On March 28, 2024, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Seoul Club as part of the SIWA Speaker Series, titled “In Their Own Words.” The event offered an intimate and welcoming setting where I could share my journey across art, literature, and intercultural experience.
Between Word and Image
During my talk, I reflected on what lies at the core of my work: the relationship between literature and visual art. My path—from Tunisia to France, then to Iran and Korea—has been shaped by a continuous movement between languages, disciplines, and cultural imaginaries.
My doctoral research on the poetics of fantasy in the work of Romain Gary allowed me to explore narrative freedom and shifting identities, while also nurturing my artistic practice . This dialogue between critical inquiry and creative expression continues to define my approach.

Living at the Crossroads
I spoke about how intercultural experience transforms perception. To live between cultures is to inhabit a space of transition, where identity is not fixed but constantly reconfigured.
In my painting practice, this reflection unfolds through color, texture, and memory. The image becomes a narrative space—a way of expressing what language alone cannot fully capture .
A Shared Moment of Dialogue
The session concluded with an open discussion, true to the spirit of the series. The exchange with the audience opened thoughtful reflections on interculturality, artistic practice, and the role of storytelling in shaping our understanding of the world.
Moments like these transform individual narratives into collective experiences.
